The Challenge
A new project withing a large international gamign studio faced a significant challenge in bringing together 150+ hybrid employees, some of whom had never met in person. The challenge was to create an environment where participants felt engaged, included, safe enough to speak up and meet new people they've never met or talked to before. We wanted to use the offsite to build relationships, foster cross-team collaboration and discuss prioritiies for the upcoming year.
The Goal
The primary goal was to strengthen relationships within and across teams, align everyone on shared priorities, and ensure that participants returned from the offsite with improved collaboration and a stronger sense of belonging to the project. When working on a Hybrid project, healthy and strong relationships across teams are such an important enabler for work, which made it our most crucial focus for the offsite.
The Solution
With support from the Leadership team, I designed and facilitated a 3-day offsite with a mix of workshops, exercises, energizers, icebreakers, keynote speakers, and social activities. Each day was carefully themed to keep participants engaged and focused. The offsite was designed to be interactive, inclusive, and energizing, making sure that people felt excited about both the content and each other.
The Result
The offsite was highly successful, with participants rating it 8.93 out of 10. A post-event survey showed 84% of participants strongly agreed that they would attend the next offsite. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive:
Honestly the best conference I’ve been to in my career! The workshops were meaningful and constructive, and the spirit was warm and inclusive, excellent work!”
Best large-group offsite I’ve been to, and I’ve been to quite a few.
It was an amazing experience. I now feel a higher sense of belonging to the project than ever before
The offsite not only achieved its goals but also helped participants return with a renewed sense of purpose and improved collaboration skills.
